Dr. Kathryn Ellis, OTD, OTR/L (she/her) and Devlynn Neu, MS, OTR/L, CSOT (they/he) are cohosting the first-ever virtual OT Sex Summit.

Kathryn is the founder of ISOT and creator of the CSOT certification. She’s led the charge in making sex and intimacy a legitimate part of OT practice—through research, clinical work, and real-world education.

Devlynn is the founder of The Rainbow OT and a nationally recognized voice in LGBTQIA+ advocacy and gender-affirming care. They bring lived experience, clinical depth, and unfiltered honesty to every room they’re in.

Together, they’re setting the tone for a summit that’s clinically grounded and impossible to ignore.

Somatic Practices for Sexual

Pleasure and arousal occur in the body, but how much are we noticing these inner sensations, especially when there's so much going on in our heads. Often clients can not notice these sensations or have expectations about their arousal that are often distracting. Using a sensory processing lens, Kathryn guides us through sexual somatic awareness and erotic embodiment practices that we can use for ourselves and share with clients to enhance interoception and pleasure.

Navigating Puberty with Dignity:

Supporting Individuals with IDD

This lecture explores practical strategies to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) through the physical, emotional, and social changes of puberty. Emphasizing dignity, autonomy, and participation, attendees will explore developmentally appropriate approaches to hygiene, self-care, body awareness, and communication. Through case studies and evidence-informed practices, participants will gain tools to faciliate clients and parents in navigating this life change.

Notes From A Queer Cripple: How Do We Make Occupational Therapy

& Sexuality Actually Accessible to the Clients We Serve

This lecture will explore the barriers to sexuality and disability within the Occupational Therapy Field; From Ableism to Attitudes and so much more. Using their personal experiences as a severely disabled person, Andrew Gurza will answer How Do We Make OT Actually Accessible.

Before gearing up for a day of learning, tune into your nervous system with guided exercises for upregulation and downregulation. Exercises for awareness of breath, posture, sensations, and emotions will be coupled with strategies for nervous system regulation. Using Dunn’s Model of Sensory Processing as our compass, we’ll look at how different sensory patterns influence comfort, preferences, and sexual experiences. Using reflecting on yourself as a sexual person to help connect the dots—and show why understanding sensory processing is key to supporting authentic, empowered sexual expression.

The Brain, the Body, and the Bedroom: OT’s Role in Intimacy

After Spinal Cord Injury and Brain Injury

This lecture explores how occupational therapists can holistically address sexuality and intimacy in neurorehabilitation. This session provides practical strategies across the continuum of care for supporting clients with SCI and TBI in reclaiming their sexual identity, navigating physical and emotional changes, and engaging in meaningful intimate relationships. Attendees will deepen their understanding of neurophysiology, psychosocial dynamics, and adaptive approaches, while gaining competence and confidence in initiating conversations around sex and intimacy as essential occupations in the recovery journey.

  • Yes—recordings are available for 60 days after the event.

  • No. It’s for any OT practitioner, professor, or student. Even PTs and SLPs are welcomed to attend. We’d love to have our Sibs there!

  • Nope. You can buy a ticket as a standalone.

  • If you're an active CSOT and need to renew your credentials this July, the $139 ticket is included in your $119 renewal.

  • Not yet. CEU approval is expected in 2027.
